
Meet the Judges
The 2025 Bangor Business Awards will judged by an independent panel alongside the president of Bangor Chamber of Commerce. Click on the images below to read a short bio for each of the judges.

Glyn Roberts has been Chief Executive of Retail NI since January 2008 after serving seven years as Head of Parliamentary Affairs with the Federation of Small Businesses in Northern Ireland.
He was Chair of NI High Streets Taskforce Policy Committee and is a board member of Ashton Community Trust Glyn was Chairman of Colleges NI from 2014-17 and previously was a member of the South-eastern Regional College Governing Body. He was also Vice-Chairman of the Northern Ireland Assembly and Business Trust (2011-12).
Previous positions held include Public Affairs Director with Weber Shandwick, Head of Communications for Cancer Focus NI and Manager of a Community Work Programme in West Belfast for the long-term unemployed.
Glyn holds a degree in Political Science from the Ulster University and is a graduate of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, Leaders for Tomorrow Programme (2008) and the US State Department International Leadership Programme (2007).

Michael Henderson, the visionary founder of the Northern Ireland Food To Go Association, brings over 15+ years of extensive experience in the food industry. A seasoned professional and well known in the industry, Michael, and the NI Food To Go Association are dedicated to representing and supporting Northern Ireland’s food- to-go sector, including fast-food outlets, cafes, coffee shops & Catering Vendors.
Michael’s entrepreneurial spirit led to the establishment of a unique organisation committed to fostering unity and providing vital support within the food-to-go industry. His profound understanding of the challenges faced by food businesses is reflected in the association’s comprehensive range of services, including expert advice, support, discount schemes, training, and recruitment assistance.
Michael’s leadership is a driving force behind the association’s mission to uphold industry standards and advocate for the success of every Food To Go business across Northern Ireland. Through his vision and commitment, Michael and the Northern Ireland Food To Go Association are making a significant impact on the thriving and dynamic food-to-go sector in the region.

Susie has over 25 years strategic leadership experience specialising in regeneration, events, tourism, economic development and placemaking. She is currently the Chief Executive with Ards and North Down Borough Council, having previously been Director of Regeneration Development and Planning and Director of Place with the Council.
She was previously Director of Marketing & Sales with the Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Hall and was part of the team who successfully reopened the new Belfast Waterfront Conference and Exhibition Centre.



Andrew Bartlett is the CEO of ROAM LOCAL LTD, a technology company dedicated to empowering local businesses and communities. With a passion for exploration and innovation, Andrew leads Roam Local’s mission to connect users with local businesses, events, and attractions, promoting sustainable tourism and community engagement. Drawing on a global perspective and hands-on leadership, he is driving the company’s growth across the UK and beyond, with a focus on digital transformation, strategic partnerships, and delivering real value to local economies..
